On 14 May, 2009, a seminar regarding the construction of and policies surrounding solar PV power stations was held by the National Energy Administration (“NEA”) in Beijing. Mr. Gu Huamin (顾华敏), the president of GCL Engineering Limited, was invited to attend the seminar and participated in the discussions with the major bidders for the construction of the Dunhuang PV power stations. Issues discussed included the development of PV power stations in China, the related policies, as well as the scale and mode of construction of a large-scale PV power station and the recent trend regarding on-grid power tariff.
Liang Zhipeng (梁志鹏) and Li Yang (李扬), who are respectively the officials of the Department of New Energy and Renewable Energy under NEA and the Department of Price under National Development and Reform Commission (“NDRC”), also attended the seminar and gave an overview of the recent development of the renewable energy industry in China as well as the government’s intention to give further support to the clean energy industry.
On behalf of GCL Group and Mr. Zhu Gong Shan, Mr. Gu Huamin gave compliments to the related unit leaders for their trust and their support in the development of the new energy businesses of GCL Group. GCL Group is enthusiastic about the government’s support of the PV industry. The Group is well positioned to promote environmental protection and would like to participate in the construction of the first generation large-scale ground PV power station in China.
Various entities have appointed their representatives this seminar, including Energy Research Institute of NDRC, China Power Investment Corporation, China Guodian Corporation, China Energy Conservation Investment Corporation, State Development & Investment Corp., Yingli and ENN. GCL Group is proud to be elected as one of the 13 candidates in the tender of the Dunhuang 10MW Power Station project.
