The National Development and Reform Commission Energy Bureau New Energy Inspection Team Visits GCL Silicon's Polysilicon Production Facilities in Xuzhou

 

On November 6, 2008, the National Development and Reform Commission Energy Bureau New Energy Inspection Team visited GCL Silicon Technologies Holdings Inc.'s ("GCL Silicon") polysilicon production facilities in Xuzhou, Jiangsu province, China. They are particularly interested in the overall growth of the solar industry as well as the development of solar companies located in the Jiangsu area. At the same time, they also wanted to learn more about polysilicon companies that are positioned in the upstream solar sector.

The Chairman of the Board of GCL Silicon, Mr. Zhu Gong Shan, described the company's growth strategy in detail. Chairman Zhu emphasized that GCL Silicon will increase its investment in the Xuzhou facility over the next few years, with particular focus on improving production technologies, developing human resources talent and further enhancing research and development capabilities. The investment plan will center around polysilicon production, but will also extend into other areas within the solar industry�Asuch as establishing in-house wafer and TCS production capacity. The company's mission is to provide polysilicon to the solar industry that can satisfy customers' requirements for quality; and at the same time, using technologies that can protect the environment and reduce both electricity costs and overall production costs. Head of the Energy Bureau New Energy Team, Mr. Wang Jun, said, "I am impressed with GCL Siicon's detailed and impressive investment planning. Its success will impress the entire world and will also bring about new catalysts to the global solar industry. I sincerely hope that GCL Silicon will continue to forge ahead and achieve all its strategic goals."

Mr. Wang Jun and his team also visited the polysiicon production facilities including the deposition hall to further understand the polysilicon production process. Having paid a visit to the Phase III construction site, Mr. Wang Jun said, "I am very excited about GCL Silicon's Phase III expansion plans. GCL Silicon must maintain steady growth and formulate expansion plans well in advance so that the company can lead the polysilicon industry in China to achieve further milestones."
