October 5, 2008 - Mr. Guanzheng Wu, former head of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China (CPC), visited GCL Silicon's polysilicon production site in Xuzhou, Jiangsu province, to learn about the Company's construction status and long-term development plans.
Mr. Wu and his delegation examined the efficiency of the Company's polysilicon production facilities and watched the successful production of 24 polysilicon rods from one of GCL Silicon's energy-efficient reactors. By employing advanced technologies, GCL Silicon's polysilicon production facilities operate in a closed-loop system that is environmentally friendly while producing high-quality products at the same time.

"With polysilicon and downstream polysilicon products set to penetrate all industries and even individual households in China, developing China's high-quality polysilicon at affordable prices will benefit the nation as a whole," said Mr. Wu. "GCL Silicon is a pioneer in the industry, and the provincial and municipal government bodies should provide the utmost support to them."

Mr. Wu and his group also visited GCL Silicon's Xuzhou Phase III construction site to inspect the progress of the 10,500 MT production facilities. The group toured the facility and witnessed equipment installation processes and met with the project's construction workers. The staff reinforced their pledge to turn GCL Silicon into one of the world's largest and most influential polysilicon production and R&D base.

Mr. Zhijun Luo, governor of Jiangsu province, and Mr. Ming Xu, vice governor of Jiangsu province and secretary of the Xuzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC, joined this fact-finding trip. Mr. Gongshan Zhu, chairman of GCL Silicon and other senior executives from GCL Silicon accompanied the group.
